Safety planning is essential when risk is elevated, including suicidal ideation or behavior driven by command hallucinations. Clinicians should assess risk factors, ensure access to crisis resources, and involve family or support systems when appropriate. Long-term outcomes improve when patients receive integrated medical care, stable housing support, and continuous engagement rather than episodic treatment.
