MIAMI – Authorities are investigating a tragic incident that occurred in Southwest Miami-Dade on Thursday afternoon. The incident took place in front of an apartment complex at SW 216th Street and 113th Avenue, where a man was fatally shot while washing a car.
Details of the Incident
According to Miami-Dade police, the victim, identified as Sleepy Brown, was washing a car in broad daylight when a moving vehicle approached and someone inside the vehicle opened fire, resulting in his death. Brown, who was known in the community as a car washer and DJ, tragically passed away at the scene.
The authorities were alerted to the shooting by a Shot Spotter alert, prompting a swift response from MDPD units to the area. Despite their efforts, the shooter and the vehicle used in the crime remain unidentified.
