The victim, identified as Sajjad Khan, aged 35 and hailing from Charsadda, was ambushed by two masked individuals and fatally shot. In a separate incident that sent shockwaves through the area, two masked individuals on a motorcycle targeted a passenger van, unleashing a barrage of bullets upon it. The indiscriminate gunfire resulted in two passengers sustaining bullet wounds, necessitating their immediate transfer to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. In a case that shook the conscience of the community, a district and sessions court handed down a life sentence to a man convicted of the heinous act of setting his wife on fire. The tragic incident occurred in the Wah Cantt police station’s jurisdiction on March 5, 2021, when Mohammad Kashif, in a fit of rage over a family dispute, ended the life of his 22-year-old wife, Hajra Bibi, by dousing her in oil. As a form of recompense, the court also imposed a fine of Rs300,000 to be paid to the legal heirs of the deceased, seeking some semblance of justice in the wake of a senseless tragedy.
