Disturbance at Weirton Resident’s Home Leads to First-Degree Murder Charges

A Weirton resident is currently facing charges of first-degree murder after a disturbing incident unfolded at his home on Deya St. The incident, which took place at 109 Deya St., has left the community in shock and disbelief.

According to Police Chief Charlie Kush, officers were called to the residence at approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday following reports of a disturbance. Upon entering the home, officers were met by Mark Dennis, 71, the homeowner, and discovered the lifeless body of his wife, Linda Dennis, 72, on the floor.

Mark Dennis was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail. At the time of the incident, no one else was present at the residence.

The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing, with the Weirton Police Department receiving assistance from the West Virginia State Police, Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Hancock County Ambulance, and the Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.
