Mobile police have apprehended a 22-year-old man in connection with an alleged burglary at the Ashford Place Apartments in Mobile, Alabama. The incident, which occurred yesterday, resulted in a shooting death that authorities have now determined to be a case of self-defense.

The shooting took place at approximately 1:21 p.m. on April 16 at the Ashford Place Apartments, leading to the tragic death of a 23-year-old man. Police were initially called to the scene following reports of a burglary in progress.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the deceased individual and another man, identified as Okoye Jabrayll Day, 22, were part of a group attempting to break into an apartment within the complex. Day was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary, as well as being forbidden from possessing a firearm.
