Safety considerations are also important. People with cardiovascular disease should consider exertion level, hydration, and terrain safety; those at risk of heat illness or dehydration should avoid prolonged exposure in extreme conditions. Anyone with severe anxiety should start gradually and use coping strategies if intrusive thoughts emerge. If symptoms like chest pain, severe dyspnea, wheezing, or syncope occur, the exposure should stop and medical evaluation is warranted.
