Hamilton Man Arrested for First-Degree Murder of Father
A 22-year-old man has been apprehended by Hamilton police following the tragic first-degree murder of his 56-year-old father over the weekend. The incident occurred on Saturday evening outside the father’s residence in Stoney Creek, near the intersection of Trafalgar Drive and Mud Street.
According to investigators, Sukhraj Cheema-Singh was observed waiting close by for his father’s return from a night out. A confrontation ensued, during which the son utilized a long-gun that fired arrows with compressed air to attack his father. Shockingly, a family member and neighbors were present and witnessed the horrific altercation.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the father, identified as Kuldip Singh of Stoney Creek, suffering from severe injuries. Tragically, he succumbed to his wounds while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Following the altercation, Sukhraj fled the scene in a blue 2022 Ford Escape with Quebec license plate FSC 7432. This vehicle had been rented from Enterprise. However, in a significant turn of events, Hamilton police later confirmed that Sukhraj was arrested at 2:55 p.m. in Toronto. The arrest occurred in the vicinity of Dufferin Street and Eglington Avenue West, where he was driving the rented SUV.
