Accident – Death – Obituary News : PATNA: A tragic incident unfolded in Gopalganj district near Khaira Azam village on State Highway-90, where a family faced a devastating accident. Three members of the family, including a young child, lost their lives, while seven others sustained injuries when the SUV they were traveling in collided with a sand-laden parked truck. The heart-wrenching incident took place around 2 am on Tuesday as the family was returning from attending a “tilak” ceremony.
The victims of this unfortunate accident were identified as Reyansh Kumar (6), Suraj Ram (65), and Shankar Ram (30), all residents of Goriya Kothi, Chhapra. Among the injured, two individuals were in critical condition and were immediately transferred to a hospital in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, for advanced medical care.
According to SHO Rajiv Ranjan Singh of Baikunthpur police station, the truck driver alerted the authorities about the collision at 2:30 am. Tragically, three individuals, including the bride’s cousin, grandfather, and uncle, lost their lives on the spot. Their bodies were taken to Sadar Hospital for further examination, while the injured, mostly children, are currently receiving treatment.
The sorrowful incident occurred as the family was returning from the groom’s house in Chhapra after participating in the tilak ceremony. The marriage of Ramakant Ram’s daughter, a resident of Buchia village, was set to take place in Siswa village in Chhapra. However, the joyous occasion turned into a nightmare when their SUV collided with a stationary truck on the highway.
The community is deeply saddened by the loss of lives and the injuries sustained in this tragic accident. The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine the cause and prevent such tragedies from reoccurring in the future.
