Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man tragically passed away after falling ill while walking in Dhaka’s Gulistan area this morning. The deceased, identified as Alamgir Sikder, 56, hailed from Kazla area in Jatrabari. According to Shah Alam, a sub-inspector of Wari Police Station, the incident occurred around 10:30am as the man was descending the slope of Mayor Hanif Flyover. Suddenly, he fell ill and lost consciousness. Passersby rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead around 11:00am.

Medical officer Marcelina Sarker from the emergency department at DMCH confirmed that the man was brought in already deceased. An autopsy will determine the cause of death, whether it was due to a heat stroke or other factors. This unfortunate event follows another incident yesterday, where a rickshaw puller named Abdul Awal collapsed and died while ferrying passengers near Dhaka Nursing College.

The country is currently experiencing a mild to moderate heatwave, with the Bangladesh Meteorological Department issuing a second consecutive three-day heat alert. The heatwave has been affecting the populace, leading to health issues and, in some cases, tragic outcomes like the ones witnessed in Gulistan and near Dhaka Nursing College.
