Tragic Incident at Muzaffarpur Railway Station

On April 22, a heartbreaking incident occurred at Muzaffarpur railway station in Muzaffarpur, where a constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) lost his life while trying to control smoke billowing out from an empty coach of a train. The deceased constable has been identified as Vinod Yadav.

Details of the Incident

According to Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway Birendra Kumar, the incident took place when the victim noticed smoke coming out from a coach of the empty Valsad-Muzaffarpur train at around 7 a.m. It was not a fire, but simply smoke billowing out. The entire train was empty at the time of the incident as it had terminated at Muzaffarpur railway station.

Upon noticing the smoke, the RPF constable immediately picked up a fire extinguisher to control the situation. However, tragically, the extinguisher burst out when he tried to open it, causing severe injuries to the constable. He was rushed to the nearest hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

An inquiry will be conducted to determine the exact circumstances that led to the constable’s untimely demise. The authorities are committed to understanding the sequence of events that transpired at Muzaffarpur railway station on that fateful day.
