Amritsar: A Sikh pilgrim who had embarked on a journey to Pakistan with a jatha to celebrate Vaisakhi met a heartbreaking end on Monday morning in Lahore. The deceased, identified as 67-year-old Jangir Singh from Ratta Khera village in Patiala, tragically passed away just before the Sikh jatha was scheduled to return home after completing a 10-day pilgrimage in the neighbouring country.

The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) authorities in Lahore took charge and ensured that Jangir Singh’s body was sent back along with the Sikh jatha. ETPB spokesperson Amir Hashmi revealed that Jangir Singh succumbed to a pulmonary arrest at around 4 am on Monday in Lahore. Hashmi expressed his condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, emphasizing that it was a natural death.
