The High-Speed Chase Through Ohio Valley Towns

A dramatic scene unfolded in the Ohio Valley as law enforcement officials were led on a high-speed chase by a man travelling at speeds exceeding 100 mph. The chase spanned across multiple towns, causing chaos and concern among residents in the area.

Assistance from Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office was called in to assist the Strasburg Police in apprehending the suspect who was recklessly driving on SR 250 towards New Philadelphia and then towards Midvale. The collaboration between the two law enforcement agencies was crucial in containing the situation and ensuring the safety of the public.

Deployment of Stop Sticks

In a daring move, officials were able to deploy stop sticks on the suspect’s vehicle on Route 250, effectively puncturing some of the tires. As the chase continued towards the Village of Midvale, additional stop sticks were strategically placed, causing the suspect’s tires to deflate and slowing down the vehicle to speeds between 20-40 mph.

K-9 Rocky to the Rescue

As the suspect attempted to flee on foot near Wolf Run Road Southeast, deputies released K-9 Rocky to apprehend him. The brave K-9 caught the suspect and subdued him with bites, leading to the successful arrest of the individual. The suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Sean K. Wahl from Canton, Ohio, had several outstanding warrants out of Stark County.

Medical Treatment and Incarceration

Following the arrest, Wahl was treated at the scene for the K-9 bites by EMS and then transported to Trinity Twin City Hospital for further evaluation. He is currently being held in the Tuscarawas County jail, awaiting further legal proceedings related to his reckless actions.

The incident serves as a reminder of the dedication and bravery of law enforcement officials in ensuring the safety and security of communities in the Ohio Valley region. The swift response and effective coordination between agencies were instrumental in bringing the high-speed chase to a safe conclusion.
