Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The body found in the rental vehicle had been shot in the head. Los Angeles Police are looking for information

Detectives from the West Bureau Homicide Unit of the Los Angeles Police Department are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for the murder of a man whose body was found in the back of a moving rental vehicle.

The grim discovery was made on April 18 around 10:53 a.m. when officers from the Wilshire division responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle at 2400 Redondo Boulevard. Concerned residents had alerted a rental company about a vehicle blocking traffic on Apple Street and Redondo Boulevard.

Upon arrival, a rental employee approached the abandoned vehicle and, upon opening the rear cargo area, stumbled upon a shocking sight – a tarp covering what appeared to be a human body. The employee immediately contacted law enforcement upon detecting a strong odour of decomposition.

Further investigation revealed the deceased individual tightly wrapped under a tarp, indicating a potential homicide. West Bureau homicide detectives were summoned to the scene, where it was determined that the victim had succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was later identified as Henry Jernigan, a 50-year-old black man.
