The Arrest of a 19-Year-Old Man in East Palo Alto

EAST PALO ALTO, Calif. – A 19-year-old man from East Palo Alto was recently arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in February. Ernesto Alexis Mora Samayoa is accused of stabbing Frank Finney and another man near University Avenue and Bell Street, resulting in Finney’s tragic death on March 4.

The Incident

The stabbing took place at around 8:25 p.m. on February 8 in East Palo Alto, California. Samayoa allegedly attacked Finney and the other victim, causing serious injuries. While Finney succumbed to his wounds, the second victim sustained minor stab wounds and was treated at the scene.

The Arrest

Samayoa was already in custody at the San Mateo County Jail for a probation violation when he was identified as the suspect in the stabbing incident. He was subsequently booked on suspicion of murder by the East Palo Alto Police Department. The authorities had sought the public’s assistance in the investigation and received support from Mothers Against Murder – Advocating for Victims of Violence, who offered a $10,000 reward.

Legal Proceedings

Samayoa is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Monday to address the charges against him. The community of East Palo Alto is waiting for justice to be served in this tragic case.
