Edward Procter

The body of a man who went missing from Morecambe has been found on the beach at Bolton-le-Sands.

Edward Procter, 73, went missing from home on Saturday April 13. He was last seen on Marine Road East in Morecambe that morning.

On Monday evening, police made the following statement:

“We have got some sad news to bring you.

“You will remember that we asked for your help to find Edward Procter, 73, who was missing from home in Morecambe.

“Very sadly, yesterday evening (Sunday, April 21st) we were called to reports of a body on the beach at Bolton-le-Sands.

“His body has now been formally identified as being Edward. Our thoughts are very much with his family at this sad and distressing time.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared in due course for HM Coroner.”

Online tributes to Mr Procter described him as “a lovely gent” and “a generous, funny, thoughtful and loving soul”.
