Two Killed in Tragic Head-On Collision in Boalkhali, Chattogram

In a devastating accident this morning, two individuals lost their lives in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram. The victims have been identified as Delwar Hossain, the 30-year-old driver of the auto-rickshaw, and Mizanur Rahman, a 32-year-old fish trader.

The incident took place at around 6:30 am in the Raikhali Pool area on Arakan Road, as reported by Ahsab Uddin, the officer-in-charge of Boalkhali Police Station. According to witnesses, Mizanur was en route to the Gomdandi Fish Market in Boalkhali to purchase fish when the sand-laden truck collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw.

Tragically, Delwar died on the spot, while Mizanur succumbed to his injuries at the Boalkhali Upazila Health Complex. Their bodies have been sent to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Efforts to Bring Justice

Following the incident, the police seized the truck involved in the collision. However, the driver of the truck managed to flee the scene, leaving authorities to pursue further investigative measures to hold the responsible party accountable.

The community of Boalkhali is left grieving the loss of these two individuals, highlighting the importance of road safety and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent such tragic accidents in the future.
