The victims, identified as Tanya, Devi Dayal alias Pappu, Manoj Gaba, and Krishna Kumar, all residents of Arjun Nagar, tragically lost their lives in the unfortunate event. Additionally, a shop owner named Dileep Kumar and a child who remains unidentified were also injured in the incident.

According to police reports, the incident took place around 6.30 pm when the victims were seated near Dileep’s shop in close proximity to the crematorium. The two children, including the unidentified one, were walking past the area when a massive wall suddenly collapsed on them.

Upon receiving the distress call, a team from the Arjun Nagar police station immediately sprang into action and, with the help of local residents, managed to rescue all six individuals from the debris within a span of 10 minutes. Despite the swift response, the rescue operation continued for an hour to ensure no one was left trapped beneath the rubble. An earth-mover was promptly deployed to aid in the rescue efforts.

Investigations revealed that the wall that collapsed was constructed of concrete and attributed the incident to poor construction practices. The authorities have announced that an FIR will be filed against the management of the crematorium, holding them accountable for the tragic loss of life.
