Bolangir: A man from the quaint village of Belpada in Odisha’s Bolangir district stands accused of a heinous crime that has shocked the entire community. The man allegedly kidnapped and strangled his 14-year-old nephew, Rehan Bag, to death in a bid to extort a ransom of Rs 3 lakh from the boy’s father.

The incident, which unfolded in Belpada Village under the jurisdiction of the Titilagarh police station, has left the residents reeling in disbelief. The accused, identified as Rohan Bag, is reported to be the brother of the deceased boy’s father, Kamanidhi Bag.

Discovery of the Victim’s Body

Following the tragic event, the police launched an investigation that led them to the accused. After arresting Rohan Bag, the authorities were able to recover the decomposed body of the young victim from a creek near the village. The shocking revelation left the entire community in mourning.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, revealing that he had murdered his nephew after his ransom demands went unmet. The police were able to trace the culprit through a ransom letter he had sent to the boy’s father, Kamanidhi Bag.
