Tragic Heat Stroke Deaths in Chuadanga and Pabna

On a scorching Saturday in Chuadanga and Pabna districts, two individuals tragically lost their lives due to heat stroke. The ongoing heat wave in the country has led to extreme temperatures, prompting authorities to take drastic measures such as closing all schools, madrasas, and colleges until 27 April.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as Jakir Hossain, 33, hailing from Thakurpur village in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga, and Sukumar Das, 60, a resident of Shalgaria Jakir Moar in Pabna district town.

Heartbreaking Account

Amir Hossain, the father of Jakir Hossain, recounted the tragic events leading to his son’s demise. Jakir had gone to a cropland in the village to irrigate in the morning. Within an hour, news reached them that Jakir had fallen ill due to the intense heat. Despite rushing him to Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex, Jakir unfortunately succumbed to the heat stroke.

The loss of these two individuals serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by extreme heat conditions. It is essential for everyone to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during such heat waves.
