A tragic accident took place on Saturday morning in Windham County, on Route 6 in the town of Chaplin, Connecticut. The incident occurred around 9 a.m., involving two vehicles and resulting in a fatality and multiple injuries.
Details of the Accident
The collision involved a 2020 Nissan Murano, driven by a 77-year-old man from Tolland County, and a 2008 Nissan Maxima, driven by a 35-year-old man from Windham. The Murano was traveling eastbound on Route 6 with a passenger in the front seat, while the Maxima was traveling westbound with another passenger in the front seat.
According to Connecticut State Police, the Murano crossed into the westbound lane, leading to a head-on collision with the Maxima. The impact of the crash resulted in the fatality of the Murano’s passenger, identified as 79-year-old Beverly Elwood from Storrs, Tolland County. The driver of the Maxima and the two other passengers sustained minor injuries in the incident.
