In a tragic accident that occurred in Sindhupalchok’s Tripura Sundari Rural Municipality, two individuals lost their lives while attending a wedding procession. The incident has left the community in mourning as the identities of the deceased have been confirmed.

Identification of the Deceased

The victims, 17-year-old Shiva Shrestha and 70-year-old Man Bahadur Thami, both residents of Bhimeshwar Municipality-1 in Dolakha, were among the passengers on the ill-fated bus. An 18-year-old male, whose identity remains unknown, also perished in the accident.

Details of the Accident

The bus, bearing the registration number Ba 4 Kha 5616, was en route to Piskar from Dolakha when the tragedy struck at 7:20 in the morning. Three individuals lost their lives on the spot, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Condition of the Passengers

Of the 55 passengers on board, including the groom, seven are currently in critical condition. They have been rushed to Sindhu Sadabahar Hospital in Khadichaur for medical attention, with the possibility of being referred to other healthcare facilities based on their conditions.

Treatment and Recovery

Meanwhile, 45 injured individuals are receiving treatment at different healthcare institutions in Tripura. After receiving treatment for minor injuries, arrangements are being made for their safe return home. The majority of the injured individuals are from Bhimeshwar Municipality-1 in Dolakha and nearby villages.

Rescue Efforts and Investigation

The accident site, located 25 km south of Bahrabise Bazar, witnessed prompt rescue efforts by personnel from the Piskar Police Station, local police office, and nearby residents. The bus, operated by Rolwaling Transport, veered off the narrow road and plummeted 100 meters, causing the tragic incident.

As investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the accident, the community is coming together to support the affected families and pray for the swift recovery of the injured individuals.
