Man Accused of Filming Young Girl Showering in Yigo

A 46-year-old man, identified as Edward Prens, also known as Edward Jr. Prens, has been charged with invasion of privacy after allegedly filming a 12-year-old girl showering in Yigo, Guam.

Incident at Yigo Residence

The incident took place at a residence in Yigo, where the young girl was using an outdoor shower. According to reports, the girl heard a camera shutter sound and noticed a cellular phone above the metal-link chain fence behind her.

Feeling violated and scared, the girl immediately yelled at the person holding the phone to stop taking pictures and ran to her father for help. Her father then contacted the authorities to report the incident.

Police Investigation

Upon arrival, officers spoke with both the girl and her father to gather information about the incident. The girl recounted her experience, stating that she saw a man holding a phone and capturing a photo of her while she was in the shower.

The man, later identified as Prens, denied taking the photo but admitted to being present at the back of the house. Officers conducted a search of his phone and found incriminating evidence in the trash folder.

Discovery of Video Evidence

During the search, officers discovered a photo of a female’s upper body and a 14-second video clip showing the young girl showering naked. Prens confessed to recording the video but claimed he was “just messing around.”

The disturbing incident has shocked the community in Yigo and raised concerns about the privacy and safety of individuals, especially children, in their own homes.

Legal Charges

Prens has been charged with invasion of privacy as a third-degree felony and invasion of privacy as a misdemeanor for his actions. The case is now in the hands of the Superior Court, where justice will be sought for the young girl and her family.

As the investigation continues, residents of Yigo are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
