Tragic Incident: Woman Struck by Train Identified

Yesterday morning, tragedy struck in the quiet town of Cusseta, AL, when a woman was struck by a train on County Road 299. The incident occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. ET, prompting a swift response from Chambers County deputies.
Discovery of the Deceased
Upon their arrival at the scene, deputies made a grim discovery – a white female, later identified as Donna Michelle Watkins, 41, of Valley AL, lying lifeless on the tracks. The sight was both shocking and heartbreaking, as investigators from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and CSX Railroad worked to piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident.
Investigation and Autopsy
The body of the victim has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for a thorough autopsy, in the hopes of shedding light on the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise. The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office is diligently investigating the case, leaving no stone unturned in their quest for answers.
