Tragic Incident at Linn of Tummel Waterfall
In a devastating turn of events, two Indian students studying at Dundee University tragically lost their lives at the picturesque Linn of Tummel waterfall in Scotland. Chanhakya Bolisetti, 22, and Jitendranath Karuturi, 27, were part of a group of four friends who were out trekking when the fateful incident occurred.
The Linn of Tummel waterfall, located near Blair Atholl, is a popular sightseeing spot known for its stunning waterfalls and natural beauty. It was here that the two young men accidentally fell into the water and drowned, leaving their friends in shock and disbelief.
Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance personnel, were quick to respond to the distress call from the two other students who witnessed the tragic accident. Despite their best efforts, the bodies of Chanhakya and Jitendranath were recovered from the water later that evening.
Indian High Commission Assisting with Repatriation
News of the incident has shaken the Indian community in the UK, with the Indian High Commission in London extending their support to the families of the deceased students. A spokesperson for the Commission confirmed that the bodies were found downstream from where the accident took place, and that arrangements are being made for their repatriation to India.
The Consulate General of India has been in touch with the families of the students, providing them with updates and assistance during this difficult time. A consular official has also met with one of the student’s relatives who resides in the UK, offering support and guidance.
