A video being shared on social media showed the brutal killing of Alisia DeCoteau, a Seattle woman who was shot multiple times by her friend. The incident took place at the Ellis Court Apartment complex in Seattle in March. The video shows the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Rickesha D. Overton, pointing a gun at DeCoteau, who can be heard screaming for her to “stop.”

Overton, however, threatens to “blow your mouth off,” before the women go back and forth at the bottom of the stairs. Overton eventually pushes DeCoteau through a fire exit door and walks away. Seconds later, Overton turns around and goes back to where DeCoteau is sitting. She then fires one shot, which appears to hit the victim. She then fire multiple shots before kicking a lifeless DeCoteau. The clip ends with other people yelling in the background.

The Location of the Incident

The tragic incident took place in the Ellis Court Apartment complex, located in Seattle, Washington. The complex is situated in a bustling neighbourhood, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and residential buildings. The area is known for its vibrant community and diverse population.

In a statement released on March 3, the Seattle Police Department said the responding officers found a woman with a gunshot wound in an alleyway between Wall and Vine streets. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody and the gun was recovered. Overton was charged with first-degree murder and second-degree assault. Her bail was set at $5,000,000.

Details of the Incident

An excerpt from the charging documents released by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said, “Internal stairway video captures the precise moment in which the defendant, still armed with a firearm, stops halfway up the stairs and changes course to head directly back through the door in which she just came, back to where she left the victim.”

“Standing over the victim the defendant taunts her, stating ‘say I won’t,’ in essence daring the victim to question whether the defendant will in fact use very gun she’s been holding over the victim against her. It’s at this moment that the defendant shoots the victim multiple times, aiming the final shot into the back of the victim’s head.”
