A devastating incident unfolded in Bridgeport last week when a 17-year-old resident, Romain Sterling, was shot in the head. The young victim tragically succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, as confirmed by the Bridgeport Police Department.

The shooting occurred on April 10 on Park Avenue, following multiple reports of gunfire in the area. Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene after receiving a ShotSpotter notification, only to discover Sterling with a critical gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention but, unfortunately, could not be saved.

Following the incident, the Bridgeport Police Department’s Detective Bureau took charge of the case, securing a significant crime scene stretch from Laurel Avenue to Wood Avenue on Park Avenue. Various pieces of evidence were collected as part of the ongoing investigation.
