HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A tragic incident unfolded in Hesperia, California, as a 25-year-old man was found dead after a trailer fire. Shockingly, authorities have determined that the victim, identified as Justin Cameron Wilkinson, was the victim of a homicide.
Details of the Incident
On Monday, April 15, 2024, deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station rushed to the scene of a trailer fire in the 7800 block of C Street in Hesperia. Reports from witnesses, including members of the Victor Valley News Group on Facebook, described hearing a loud explosion followed by a blaze of orange and yellow flames.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire and made a grim discovery – the lifeless body of Justin Cameron Wilkinson inside the trailer. However, the investigation took a chilling turn when the Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb Detail noticed injuries on Wilkinson that were not consistent with fire-related injuries.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail took over the case and identified a suspect in the brutal crime. Angel Cardenas, 23, a resident of Victorville, was apprehended and booked into the High Desert Detention Center without bail. A court appearance for Cardenas is scheduled for Thursday in a Victorville courtroom.
