Tragic Motorcycle Accident in Whiteland, Indiana
A devastating accident took place in Whiteland, Indiana on Tuesday night, resulting in the loss of a young life. The Whiteland Police Department, along with other assisting agencies, are currently investigating the fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. 31.
Details of the Incident
At 9:30 p.m., a motorcycle was travelling north on U.S. 31 when a truck attempted to cross traffic onto the federal highway from Country Wood Drive. Despite the motorcycle’s efforts to avoid the collision, it struck the vehicle. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 19-year-old Drew Shrader from Shelbyville, tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Driver Arrested
The driver of the truck, Jeffrey Cobbs, 62, from New Whiteland, emerged unscathed from the accident. However, investigators suspect that alcohol and speed played a role in the crash. Cobbs was subsequently arrested for possible intoxication while operating a vehicle causing death.
