Tragic Motorcycle Accident in Whiteland, Indiana

A devastating two-vehicle accident took place on Tuesday evening in Whiteland, Indiana, leaving one young man dead. The Whiteland Police Department, along with other supporting agencies, are currently investigating the incident.

Details of the Accident

At 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a motorcycle was travelling north on US 31 when a truck attempted to cross traffic from Country Wood Drive onto the state highway. The motorcycle collided with the truck, resulting in a fatal crash. Whiteland investigators quickly responded to the scene to provide assistance.

Victims Identified

The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as Drew Shrader, a 19-year-old from Shelbyville. Unfortunately, Shrader lost his life in the accident. The driver of the truck, Jeffrey Cobbs, aged 62 from New Whiteland, was unharmed and was taken to the Whiteland Police Department for evaluation.

Possible Causes of the Crash

Investigators suspect that alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors to the tragic incident. Following the investigation, Cobbs was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving resulting in death.
