Tragic Discovery in Baltimore

Authorities in Baltimore have made a tragic discovery as the body of a fourth victim in last month’s collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge has been recovered. The unified command group in charge of recovery announced on Monday that the body was found trapped inside a construction vehicle. The identity of the deceased has been withheld at the request of the family.

Recovery Efforts

This recent recovery comes after the body of a third victim, 38-year-old Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, was found earlier this month. Suazo-Sandoval, a construction worker, was one of six individuals believed to have perished in the collapse on March 26 when a cargo ship struck a bridge support.

Two other victims, Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera and Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, were recovered from a vehicle in the water on March 27. Cabrera, 26, hailed from Guatemala and resided in Dundalk, Maryland, while Fuentes, 35, was from Mexico and lived in Baltimore.

FBI Investigation

In a significant development, the FBI has launched a criminal investigation into the cargo ship that collided with the bridge. Senior law enforcement officials revealed that the inquiry will focus on whether the crew had prior knowledge of potential mechanical issues with the vessel.

Agents boarded the 985-foot Dali early Monday with search warrants to conduct law enforcement activity. The investigation will delve into the circumstances surrounding the ship’s departure from port.

As the community mourns the loss of these individuals, the investigation into the bridge collapse continues to uncover more details about the tragic incident in Baltimore.
