Accident – Death – Obituary News : LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting that took place in September 2023. The suspect, identified as Shaun Lee, has been taken into custody.

The incident occurred on the 1600 block of Searles Avenue, where police responded to multiple calls reporting a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the victim, Clayton Browne, with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Browne was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing a Black adult male fleeing the scene on foot after the shooting. The LVMPD Homicide Section took over the investigation, conducting interviews and collecting evidence from the scene.

During the investigation, detectives found Browne’s body in a cul-de-sac parking lot with gunshot wounds to the head and face. They also discovered signs of a struggle and found the victim’s cell phone nearby.

One witness, who was working at a nearby taxi cab lot at the time of the shooting, reported hearing a female voice yelling “No, please don’t,” followed by gunshots. He saw the suspect armed with a handgun and witnessed the shooting. The witness called the police and provided valuable information to investigators.

Another witness, who was in a relationship with the victim, revealed that Browne had been involved in illegal activities, including selling drugs. The witness recounted a confrontation between Browne and the suspect, which led to the fatal shooting.

Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured the suspect matching the description standing outside a store shortly after the shooting. The footage, along with witness statements, helped identify Shaun Lee as the suspect in Browne’s murder.

An autopsy conducted by the Clark County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Browne’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, ruling it a homicide.

Further investigation revealed that Lee and Browne were childhood friends from Compton, CA, and had recently reconnected. Witnesses recalled a disagreement between the two men prior to the shooting, indicating a possible motive for the crime.
