MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The brave officer involved in the recent shooting incident in Mission has been identified as Sgt. Adrian Alejandro of the Mission Police Department.
The Incident
Sgt. Adrian Alejandro sustained injuries during an officer-involved shooting that took place over the weekend. The incident occurred at 10:25 a.m. on Military and FM 494 near Juan Diego Academy in Mission. According to Mission Police Department Public Information Officer, Art Flores, Alejandro was shot and wounded when he exchanged gunfire with an individual in the area.
The Officer’s Condition
Following the shooting, Sgt. Alejandro underwent surgery for his injuries and is currently in stable condition. The road to recovery may be challenging, but his resilience and courage are commendable.
The Suspect
The suspect involved in the shooting incident, whose identity remains undisclosed, also underwent surgery and is currently in critical condition. The Texas Rangers will be leading the investigation into this case to uncover the truth behind the unfortunate events that transpired.
