Following a tragic accident on Sunday evening along the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway at Wathar, the death toll has risen to four. The driver of the truck involved in the accident has been identified as a resident of Purandar tehsil in Pune district. Authorities have dispatched a team to locate and arrest him as he fled the scene under the cover of darkness. The deceased individuals have been identified as Babalal Imam Mujawar (50), Vikas Dhondiram Vadd (32), Sachin Dhanawade (40), and Shrikeshwar Paswan (60), all residents of Bhadole village, according to police inspector Vilas Bhosale of Vadgaon police station.
While one person tragically lost their life at the scene of the accident, three others succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at CPR Hospital in Kolhapur. Currently, six injured individuals are receiving medical care at the hospital, with three of them in critical condition, as confirmed by the officer.
