Man Brutally Attacked and Hacked to Death in Pune Eatery

A shocking incident took place in Pune on Saturday night, where a 31-year-old man was brutally attacked and hacked to death inside an eatery. The gruesome killing was captured on CCTV camera footage inside Hotel Jagadamba near Indapur on the Pune-Solapur Highway. The victim, identified as Avinash Dhanve, had a history of criminal activities, leading the police to believe that his murder was a result of gangwar.

Attack Caught on CCTV

The CCTV footage shows two attackers approaching Dhanve as he sat with three others in the eatery. While Dhanve was engrossed in his phone, the attackers opened fire, causing panic among the other occupants. The assailants did not pursue the others, but more individuals armed with sickles and machetes joined in the attack. In a horrifying turn of events, Dhanve was mercilessly hacked to death inside the eatery while other guests fled the scene.

Police Investigation

The incident occurred around 8pm, and the police quickly identified the perpetrators through the CCTV footage. Pune Rural SP Pankaj Deshmukh confirmed that Dhanve died on the spot and assured that the culprits would soon be apprehended. The police believe that the motive behind the murder was a gang rivalry, given Dhanve’s criminal background as a property dealer.
