Accident – Death – Obituary News : The shocking murder of a 27-year-old Uzbek woman, Zarina Utkirovna, inside her hotel room on Sankey Road in Bengaluru has finally been solved. Two housekeeping staffers from the hotel have been arrested on charges of murdering her in a bid to rob her of what they believed was a large sum of cash.

Zarina had checked into Jagadish Hotel in March after arriving from Delhi and was staying in a room on the second floor. She was found dead on the night of March 13 with injuries on her face and blood in her nose. Upon investigation, it was discovered that her iPhone and a significant amount of cash were missing from the room.

The two accused, identified as 22-year-old Amrit Sona and 26-year-old Robert, both from Assam and employed at the hotel for nearly a year, were apprehended just before they could flee the city. The stolen iPhone and Rs 20,000 cash were recovered from them.

According to the police, the staffers found Zarina’s body and alerted authorities. After a thorough investigation, it was revealed that the accused believed Zarina had a large sum of money in her possession, prompting them to plan and execute the robbery. The motive behind the murder was solely financial gain.

Zarina, who was on a tourist visa, had been paying Rs 5,500 in cash daily for her room, in addition to expenses for food and beverages. The accused, Amrit and Robert, had seen her open her bag filled with currency and assumed she had more hidden away. On the night of the murder, they pretended to be there for repair work, only to smother her with a pillow when she opened the door.

Doctors have confirmed that there were no signs of sexual assault on the victim, but they are awaiting the autopsy report for further details. The case has shocked the community and serves as a reminder of the importance of safety and security, even in seemingly safe environments..
