In a heartbreaking turn of events, a New Mexico state police officer, Justin Hare, was fatally shot on Interstate 40 in eastern New Mexico. The incident took place near mile marker 320, approximately 50 miles west of the Texas state line, early Friday morning.

Suspect At Large

Following the shooting, law enforcement agencies launched a massive search for the suspect, who was last seen on foot wearing a brown hoodie and jacket on the I-40 Frontage Road between Montoya and Newkirk. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, prompting authorities to urge the public to call 911 immediately if spotted.
