The Tragic Incident in Bargarh
Located in the heart of Odisha, Bargarh is a peaceful village known for its serene surroundings and close-knit community. However, on Thursday night, this tranquillity was shattered by a heartbreaking incident that left the residents shocked and devastated.
The Unfortunate Turn of Events
It was reported that a 35-year-old man named Jogeswar Nag, who was known to be struggling with alcohol addiction, was allegedly beaten to death by his own father and two brothers in the village of Kusanpuri, which falls under the Barpali block in Bargarh.
The Tragic Confrontation
According to witnesses, Jogeswar returned home in an inebriated state and got into a heated argument with his father, Rajendra Nag. Despite efforts from Rajendra and Jogeswar’s brother Jagdish Nag to calm him down, the situation escalated quickly as Jogeswar started causing damage to the property.
The Shocking Outcome
In a fit of rage, Jogeswar’s father and brothers tried to restrain him, leading to a violent altercation that tragically resulted in Jogeswar losing his life. The authorities were alerted, and the Barpali police, along with a scientific team, arrived at the scene to investigate the matter.
Legal Action Taken
After thorough interrogation, Rajendra Nag, Jagdish Nag, and Buddhadev Nag were taken into custody and later arrested for their involvement in the incident. A case has been registered under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, and the accused have been presented in court for further legal proceedings.

Officer-in-charge of the Barpali police station, Debananda Mallick, has assured that the investigation is ongoing to uncover the full details of the tragic event.
