Another Gun Seized During Enhanced Patrols in King City

Law enforcement in King City continues to crack down on crime following a tragic mass shooting that claimed the lives of four individuals. Enhanced patrols have led to another arrest and the confiscation of a third firearm in just eight days.

During routine traffic stops in the area of San Antonio Drive and Campbell, deputies encountered Edgar Mejia Jr., a 25-year-old resident of King City with an outstanding warrant for domestic violence. Mejia Jr. informed the deputies of a firearm in his possession, which was subsequently found to be loaded and concealed in his vehicle.

This latest incident marks the third gun to be taken off the streets as part of the ongoing efforts to enhance safety in King City.

In the aftermath of a mass shooting at a party outside a residence on North 2nd Street in King City on March 3, 2024, where eleven individuals were shot and four lost their lives, law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.

Reports indicate that three masked gunmen, dressed in dark clothing, exited a stolen silver KIA and opened fire before fleeing the scene. The abandoned vehicle was later discovered in a vineyard on Apple Street outside of Greenfield, three days after the tragic incident.
