Man Fatally Shot Outside Home in East Oak Cliff
A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday in east Oak Cliff, where a man was found fatally shot outside a home. The incident took place in the 1700 block of Mentor Avenue, near East Frio Drive, according to Dallas police reports.
Discovery of the Victim
At around 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check at the location and discovered a man lying on the ground, unresponsive. The victim was later identified as 31-year-old Christopher Hawkins. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel confirmed that Hawkins had succumbed to a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Investigation
Following the discovery of the victim, a SWAT unit executed a search warrant at the residence but found no one inside. Dallas police have not released any additional information about the incident and have stated that the investigation is ongoing.
