Details of the Tragic Incident in Hollywood, Florida

A man in Hollywood, Florida, has been accused of leaving a baby boy’s body in a dumpster, while the child’s mother allegedly failed to report her son’s death, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Discovery of the Baby’s Body

The Hollywood Police Department (HPD) received a distressing 911 call on January 8, reporting that a baby had been found inside a dumpster on Rodman Street just after 8 a.m. First responders performed life-saving measures but tragically, the baby was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives were called in to investigate the case.

Identification of the Baby

The police identified the baby as a boy, found inside a reusable shopping bag with his umbilical cord still attached. The medical examiner reported no signs of injury or trauma on the baby, but further testing is required to determine whether the baby was alive or stillborn.

Surveillance Video Evidence

HPD detectives obtained surveillance footage from the area, which showed a white Kia Sorrento stopping in front of the dumpster. A man, later identified as 59-year-old Terence Warren, was seen exiting the car and disposing of a bag into the dumpster. The dump site was only a block away from his apartment.

Incriminating Evidence

Following investigative leads, search warrants were obtained for Warren’s cell phone records and car. Blood was discovered on the passenger’s seat and floor mats of his vehicle. Text messages revealed Warren’s communication with a woman about her pregnancy. Subsequently, Brenda Feliciano, 36, was identified as the mother of the deceased baby.

Arrests Made

On March 13, approximately two months after the incident, both Feliciano and Warren were arrested. Feliciano faces a charge of failure to report a death, while Warren faces charges of failure to report a death and disposing of a human body without a permit.

This heartbreaking incident has shocked the community and raised important questions about the duty to report such tragedies promptly. The investigation continues as authorities seek justice for the baby boy found in the dumpster in Hollywood, Florida.
