Man Strangled to Death in South Delhi

In a disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the Maidan Garhi area in south Delhi, a man was allegedly strangled to death by a vagabond after an altercation with a security guard. The accused, identified as Ravindra (32), had been residing at a DDA park in the vicinity, where the tragic incident unfolded.

Background of the Accused

Ravindra, hailing from Etah in Uttar Pradesh, had previously worked as a labourer at an event management company before taking up residence at the DDA park. His life took a dark turn when he decided to seek vengeance against the victim, Ajay, who had reportedly insulted the security guard that used to feed him.

Discovery of the Crime

The matter came to light when the police received a complaint about Ajay (24) on March 9, prompting an investigation into his whereabouts. The authorities traced Ajay’s last location to the DDA park in Rajpur Khurd Extension, where they made a grim discovery.

Police Investigation

Upon reviewing CCTV footage from the area, the police observed Ajay entering the park with an unidentified individual, but the duo never emerged. Further surveillance revealed the suspect, Ravindra, engaged in a phone conversation near the park, raising suspicions about his involvement in the crime.

Arrest and Confession

Following a thorough investigation, the police tracked down Ravindra to Ramphal Chowk in Sector 7 of Dwarka, where he was apprehended while selling oranges and wearing the victim’s shoes. During interrogation, Ravindra admitted to luring Ajay to an isolated location, getting him intoxicated, and ultimately strangling him in a fit of rage.
