Accident – Death – Obituary News : Seven suspects, including six teenagers, entered not guilty pleas this week in connection with the tragic kidnapping and killing of a 16-year-old Arizona boy, Preston Lord. The incident took place in Queen Creek, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, where the young boy was brutally beaten allegedly over a gold necklace.

The suspects, Dominic Turner, Taylor Reagan Sherman, Treston John Billey, William Owen Hines, Jacob Ryan Meisner, Talan Renner, and Talyn Ray Vigil, were all charged as adults with first-degree murder and kidnapping. Turner and Meisner also face an additional charge of aggravated robbery, as per court records and an announcement by the Queen Creek Police Department.

The horrifying incident unfolded on the night of October 28, 2023, following a Halloween party at a residence in Queen Creek. Police initially responded to a non-emergency report of a “juvenile disturbance” and later received a call about an assault at the same location. They found Preston Lord severely beaten on the road and rushed him to the hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on October 30.

According to local news outlet AZ Family, the party where the incident occurred was meant to be a small gathering of the host’s daughter’s friends but grew out of control with uninvited guests. Lord, who did not know the suspects, was caught in the violent altercation over a stolen gold chain, escalating into a deadly confrontation.

The investigation into Lord’s death spanned several months, with over 200 tips submitted to the police and more than 50 warrants served. The breakthrough came on March 7 when a grand jury indicted the seven suspects in the case, shedding light on the tragic events that led to the young boy’s untimely demise.

Court documents revealed that Lord and his friends attempted to retrieve the stolen gold chain, leading to a violent altercation with the suspects. The documents also mentioned that one of the suspects, Talan Renner, was allegedly taken out of the area following the incident, with claims of financial assistance to flee to Mexico.

In response to the allegations, Renner’s family denied the accusations, stating that misinformation abounds on the internet. The case continues to unfold as the suspects face legal proceedings for their involvement in the senseless tragedy that claimed the life of 16-year-old Preston Lord..
