Woman’s Body Found in Bag in Manhattan Apartment
An investigation is currently underway after a woman’s body was discovered in a bag inside an apartment in Manhattan on Thursday. The disturbing incident took place at 206 E. 31st St. where police were called to conduct a wellness check.
Family members had expressed concerns about their loved one who resided in the apartment, but were unable to gain access. It was the building superintendent who eventually let them in, leading to the grisly discovery of the woman’s body stuffed inside a bag.
The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Nadia Vitel. Authorities are working to determine the cause of death, as it is still unclear if there was any trauma to the victim’s body or if there was forced entry into the apartment.
The Office of The Chief Medical Examiner will be conducting further investigations as the case remains ongoing. Eyewitness News will provide updates as more information becomes available.
