The Residential Burglary in Burbank
Five young men are now in custody after police in Burbank thwarted a residential burglary at an occupied residence on Tuesday night. The incident took place in the 3600 block of Viewcrest Drive, according to a news release from the Burbank Police Department.
Swift Police Response
Just before midnight on March 12, officers responded to the scene and immediately located two burglary suspects waiting in a vehicle near the front of the residence. They were apprehended without incident. However, three other suspects fled on foot into the surrounding neighborhood and hillside, prompting a search operation.
Multi-Agency Effort
To aid in the search for the fleeing suspects, the Pasadena Police Department helicopter and the Glendale Police Department joined forces with Burbank officers. A perimeter was established, and with their combined efforts, all three suspects were located. Despite multiple warnings from the police, the suspects refused to comply and were ultimately apprehended with the assistance of Burbank Police K-9 units.
Identifying the Suspects
The five men involved in the burglary were identified as 23-year-old Kameron Wilson of Moreno Valley, 21-year-old Henry Thomas, 20-year-old Trista Manuel, and 19-year-olds Robert Holt and Anthony Regalado, all from Los Angeles.
Medical Treatment and Legal Action
After the suspects were bitten by the K-9 units during their apprehension, paramedics from the Burbank Fire Department provided medical treatment on-site. The suspects were then taken to a local hospital before being booked for residential burglary. Formal charges are pending review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Continuing Investigation
It remains unclear how the police were alerted to the burglary in progress or whether any occupants of the residence were harmed during the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather more information about the motive behind the attempted burglary.
