Third Man Charged in Rochester Apartment Shooting Nearly a Year Ago
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A third man has been charged in connection with a shooting that took place at a Rochester apartment almost a year ago. The incident occurred on May 19, 2023, at the Ashland Apartments in the 1950 block of Ashland Dr. Northwest.
Details of the Incident
The criminal complaint accuses the third man, identified as 21-year-old Ethan Raymond Callier of Rochester, of bringing one of the alleged shooters to the scene and acting as the getaway driver. Charges filed in the case revealed that Rochester Police found at least 12 shell casings at the scene of the shooting.
Callier had picked up three other passengers to go to the Ashland Apartment to retrieve house and car keys from his sister’s fiance. One of the passengers mentioned that Callier asked them to accompany him to the apartment because he anticipated a hostile situation. Another passenger admitted to bringing a gun to the apartment but did not use it.
During a traffic stop after the shooting, the occupants of the vehicle informed officers that there were two firearms in the car, which were subsequently seized by law enforcement. Callier then drove away from the apartment after the shooting took place.
Legal Proceedings
Callier has been charged with felony second-degree riot and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Olmsted County Court next month. The other two defendants involved in the shooting, 24-year-old Michael King and 28-year-old Joshua Eugne Adams, were previously charged in the case. Adams has already settled his case through a plea agreement, while King’s trial is set to proceed.
No injuries were reported in connection with the shooting incident. The case continues to unfold as legal proceedings progress.
