Robbery at Gas Station Leads to Arrest of Two Indianapolis Residents

On a Tuesday morning in Indianapolis, a robbery at a Phillips 66 gas station on the near west side resulted in the arrest of two individuals. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), 21-year-old Raquan Gray and a 16-year-old were taken into custody on armed robbery charges in connection to the incident.

Incident Details

IMPD officers were called to the Phillips 66 location at 2516 W. 10th St. around 8:40 a.m. following reports of a robbery. It was reported that two men had entered the store, brandished a handgun, and fled the scene with stolen items before the authorities arrived.

Shortly after the robbery, a description of the suspects was circulated among IMPD officers. Approximately 10 minutes later, officers were dispatched to investigate a disturbance at an Exxon gas station located at 2013 W. Michigan Street.

Arrest and Recovery

Upon arriving at the Exxon gas station, officers identified Gray and the 16-year-old as matching the description of the individuals involved in the earlier robbery at Phillips 66. Both suspects were apprehended, and a stolen handgun equipped with a machine gun conversion device was recovered.

Gray and the 16-year-old were taken into custody on preliminary charges of armed robbery, possession of a machine gun, and possession of stolen property. The swift actions of the IMPD officers led to the successful apprehension of the suspects and recovery of the stolen weapon.

IMPD continues to investigate the incident and is urging anyone with information to come forward. The collaboration between law enforcement and the community plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and preventing criminal activities.
