NORTH Vancouver RCMP are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a tragic incident that claimed the life of a pedestrian. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 9 at around 5:45 a.m. in North Vancouver, specifically on Forbes Avenue near West 1st Street.

According to reports, a pedestrian in his 20s from North Vancouver was struck by a taxi while the vehicle was travelling southbound on Forbes Avenue. Despite efforts by fire crews and BC Ambulance, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The RCMP have ruled out impaired driving as a factor in the collision, but investigations are ongoing.

Constable Mansoor Sahak, the Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP, expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends, acknowledging the tragic loss of life. Support services from North Vancouver RCMP Victim Services and the Integrated First Nations Unit have been mobilized to assist those affected by this devastating event.

In the aftermath of the collision, Forbes Avenue was temporarily closed as the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service conducted a thorough analysis of the scene and collected evidence to aid in the investigation.
