Tragedy struck in the quiet town of Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka, on Monday night when two unidentified gunmen opened fire near a shop on Wela Road. The incident, which occurred around 8:35 pm, left two people dead and three others injured in its wake.
Details of the Incident
According to reports from the Police Media Division, the assailants arrived at the scene on a motorcycle armed with a T-56 firearm. After carrying out the shooting, they quickly fled the scene, leaving chaos and devastation behind.
Investigations have revealed that the shooting was targeted at a worker named ‘Podi’ at the shop, with the owner having no prior criminal charges against them. Police suspect that the owner was mistakenly shot by the assailants, who were actually aiming for the employee.
