Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Grandfather and Grandson in Shimla District

Shimla – In a heart-wrenching incident that has left the local community in shock, a grandfather and his young grandson tragically lost their lives after a jeep accident on the Gujandli-Devrighat link road in the picturesque Shimla district.

The devastating accident occurred as the victims, identified as Bahadur Singh and his grandson Akshat, were on their way to Narayan Mandir for darshan. The driver of the jeep reportedly lost control near Charot Scissors, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and plummet approximately 50 meters down a steep slope.

Bahadur Singh, a respected resident of village Gujandli in Shimla district, and his grandson Akshat, aged 10, tragically lost their lives on the spot. The incident has left the entire community mourning the loss of these two beloved individuals.

Upon receiving news of the accident, local authorities swiftly responded to the scene. The police took charge of the deceased bodies, conducted post-mortem examinations, and handed them over to the grieving relatives. Meanwhile, the six injured individuals are currently undergoing medical treatment at Rohru Hospital.

The police have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident. According to DSP Rohru Ravindra Kumar Negi, initial findings suggest that the driver’s loss of control near Charot Scissors was the primary cause of the incident.
