An 18-year-old female has been arrested for a pair of shootings in San Pedro that occurred in January and left one man dead.

Details of the Incidents

Authorities have identified the suspect as Estrella Rojas, a resident of San Pedro. The shootings took place two weeks apart, with the first incident occurring on Jan. 6. During this incident, two suspects accosted a 19-year-old man. When the victim tried to drive away, one of the suspects fired at the man’s vehicle, luckily leaving him unharmed.

The second shooting took place on Jan. 20 at Machista, a bar located at the corner of Pacific Avenue and West 10th Street. Estrella was allegedly involved in a dispute with another party around 12:15 a.m. There was a physical altercation inside the bar before the shooting occurred. The suspect fired multiple rounds, striking three people.

Tragically, one victim, identified as 33-year-old Tyrone Tyars, lost his life in the shooting. A 35-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man sustained injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment, fortunately with non-life-threatening injuries.

Arrest and Charges

The LAPD FBI Fugitive Task Force played a crucial role in locating and apprehending Rojas on March 7. She has since been charged with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder in connection to the shootings.
